Indian benchmark indices are trading flat amid volatility in the market

On Wednesday, Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped by 33,646.50 points or 1.17%, to end at 33,646.50. The S&P 500 fell 0.41% to end at 4,091.95. The Nasdaq Composite dipped 0.85% to close at 11,929.34.

The domestic market made a flat opening. Nifty remained flat at 17,810.70 while Sensex remained at 60,339.98. The BSE midcap index traded up by 0.31% at 24,757 while the BSE small cap index was also up by 0.35% at 28,155.57. Nifty PSU Bank was the best-performing sector with a gain of more than 0.40 %, while Nifty IT was the worst-performing sector with a loss of more than 1.71 %.

At 10:00 pm, Apollo Hospital, Eicher Motors, Power Grid Corporation, ONGC and Nestle were among the top gainers whereas Tech Mahindra, Infosys, HCL Technologies, TCS and IndusInd Bank were among the market draggers. The advance-decline ratio favoured advances with 1852 shares rising on the BSE and 1035 shares falling, while 124 remain unchanged.
