Domestic indices reverse losses, led by FMCG and Power names 

Most Asian stocks gained on Monday tracking gains from Wall Street. All the major indices were trading in the green except Hong Kong’s Hang Seng. SGX Nifty indicated a positive opening with a gain of 100 points. Indian benchmark indices were trading sideways amid mixed market sentiments.

At 12:05 pm, the Nifty 50 was trading at the 15,761.75 level, edged up by 0.06%. On the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers were IndusInd Bank, Power Grid Corporation of India and ITC Ltd whereas Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, Hindalco Industries and Tata Steel were the top losers of the session.  

Sensex was trading at a level of 53,013.66, advanced by 0.20%. The stocks trading in the green were IndusInd Bank, Power Grid Corporation of India and ITC Ltd. Tata Steel, Mahindra and Mahindra and TCS were the market draggers.  

Reserve Bank of India (RBI), in its report, stated that Indian states are scheduled to raise Rs 62,640 crore in July, Rs 81,582 crore in August and Rs 67,330 crore in September via bonds. In other developments, Revenue Secretary Tarun Bajaj said that India will only withdraw its windfall tax for oil producers and refiners if global prices of crude fall $40 a barrel from present levels. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation was the top loser on the Nifty 50 index with a loss of over 4%.
