Domestic indices extend gains, Sensex jumps over 400 points, Nifty above 17,500 level. 

Asian markets experienced mixed emotions. While other markets were trading higher, the Hang Seng in Hong Kong and the TSEC 50 Index in Taiwan were trading lower. In June, Japan saw its first current account deficit in five months as soaring imports outpaced exports. 

The SGX Nifty showed a dismal start for the broader index in India with a loss of 83 points. Indian benchmark indices, in contrast, started the day higher.

At 12:30 pm, the Nifty 50 was trading at the 17,518.30 level, rising by 0.69%. On the Nifty 50 index, the top gainers were Coal India, Hindalco Industries and NTPC Ltd whereas Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, State Bank of India and Britannia Industries were the top losers of the session.

Sensex was trading at a level of 58,832.04, gaining by 0.76%. The top gainers were HDFC Bank, NTPC Ltd and Axis Bank whereas State Bank of India, UltraTech Cement Company and Nestle India were the market draggers.

28 companies have received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to conduct initial public offerings (IPOs) between April and July of 2022–2023 in order to raise a total of Rs 45,000 crore, with 11 debutantes having already raised over Rs 33,000 crore.
