List of top 5 gainers and losers in the Midcap and Smallcap segment for the week from December 16 to December 22, 2022.

The frontline index S&P BSE Sensex declined 0.83% or 511.59 points during the week and closed at 60,826.22 on December 22, 2022.

The fall was broad based during the week with S&P BSE Mid Cap declined by 1.76% at 25,285.23.The S&P BSE Small Cap also ended at 28,421.52 declining 3.71%.

The biggest gainer in the mid-cap segment for the week was JBM Auto Ltd. Shares of JBM Auto Ltd rose by 19.62% for the week from the levels of Rs 412.65 to Rs 493.6. JBM Auto Ltd is engaged in the automotive business that manufactures and sells sheet metal components, tools, dies & moulds and buses including sale of spare parts, accessories & maintenance contract of Buses.

The top 5 losers from the Midcap segment for this week are as follows:

The laggards of the midcap segment were led by Deepak Fertilisers And Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd. The shares of this leading chemical manufacturing company fell by 19.19% from Rs 820.9 to Rs 663.35.The company announced a corporate restructuring plan that will result in the separation of its mining chemicals and fertilisers businesses. In a meeting on Thursday, the board of Smartchem Technologies (STL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of DFPCL, approved a corporate restructuring plan that will help unlock the growth potential of each of the businesses, the company said in a statement.

  The top gainer is IOL Chemicals And Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Shares of this pharmaceutical company rose by 16% for the week from the levels of Rs 331.9 to Rs 385. IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd is a leading pharmaceutical (APIs) company and is a significant player in the specialty chemicals space. It is the largest player of Ibuprofen (pain killer) globally with a world market share of 35%.

The top 5 losers in the Smallcap segment for this week are as follows:

The losers of small cap space were led by MPS Ltd. The shares of this company fell from Rs 964.65 to Rs 801.45 registering a loss of 16.92% in the stock price.
