As Q1 results are pouring in, the corporate performance had been mixed, however margins across sectors are under pressure. Benchmark Indices S&P BSE Sensex closed for the week at 56,857.79, which was higher by 1.4% or 785 points while Nifty closed for the week at 16,929.60 which was higher by 1.25% or 210 points.
The broader market also witnessed volatility during the week with S&P BSE Mid Cap closing up by 0.6% at 23,811.48. The S&P BSE Small Cap also ended at 26,716.56, down by 0.31% or 84 points.

The losers of small cap space were led by Sharda Cropchem Ltd. The shares of the company fell from Rs 693.1 to Rs 521.45 registering a loss of 24.77% in the stock price. The agrochemical company posted its Q1FY23 results, which showed degrowth on a sequential basis. Net sales fell by 42.5% to Rs 824.5 crore as compared to the March quarter. The company reported EBITDA and Net Profit at Rs 52.88 crore and Rs 22.64 crore, which were down by 81.78% and 87,21%, respectively QoQ . Compared to the June Quarter of 2021, net sales were up by 32.4% but margins had significantly contracted and came in at 6.41% (EBITDAM) and 2.75% (PATM) As a result, the shares of Sharda Cropchem witnessed a heavy selloff in the counter on July 25 shedding 18.66% share price in a single session.
