Indian financial markets will be closed on Thursday, June 29, due to the celebration of Bakri Eid (Id-ul-Zuha). This decision was announced by Maharashtra's general administration on Monday.

The contracts for Nifty and NiftyBank will now expire on Wednesday instead of Thursday, while the Nifty Midcap derivative contracts will maintain their usual expiration date on Wednesday. The trading for the new series, known as the July series, will begin on Friday.
In addition to the equity markets, the currency markets will be closed on Thursday and operational on Wednesday, June 28. Similarly, the commodity markets will remain closed on Thursday but will reopen for trading in the evening session, starting at 5 pm. For the commodity derivative segment as well, trading will not be available in the morning but will be open in the evening.
