The Indian benchmark indices were trading flat with BSE Metals Index shining among all the sectoral indices, up by 1.26.

On Thursday, the benchmark indices were trading down with Sensex down around 127 points or 0.21% at 60,222.94, and the Nifty trading down by 39 points or 0.21% at 17,717.30.

Top Gainer & Losers on BSE:

Tata Steel, Bharti Airtel and Axis Bank were the top Sensex gainers today, while ITC, ICICI Bank and Reliance Industries were the top Sensex loser.

The indices traded in a higher manner in the broader markets, with the BSE Mid-cap index surging by 0.26% and the BSE Small-cap index soaring by 0.43%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Apollo Hospitals and REC Ltd, while the top small-cap gainers were Siquent Scientific and Shilpa Medicare.

The indices were trading mixed on the sectoral front, with the BSE Metals Index leading the gainers and BSE FMCG Index leading the losers. The BSE Metals Index soared by 1.26%, led by Tata Steel and Hindalco Industries while the BSE FMCG Index plunged by 0.35%, dragged down by Shree Renuka Sugars and Ugar Sugar Works.
