Sensex near 60,000, Nifty above 17,800 level, with Dr Reddy's Laboratories being the top dragger.

All of the major Asian markets were trading lower, with Hong Kong and Japan's indices falling more than 1% as a result of lacklustre global cues. In the three months leading up to June, Japan's economy grew as a result of the government removing Covid-19 business restrictions. Stronger capital investment and consumption drove its 0.5% quarter-over-quarter growth, which fell short of market expectations of 0.7%.
