About Central Bank of India

Established in 1911, Central Bank of India holds the distinction of being the first Indian commercial bank owned and operated entirely by Indians. Its founder, Sir Sorabji Pochkhanawala, envisioned this bank as a symbol of national pride. The bank's first chairman, Sir Pherozesha Mehta, led it as a truly indigenous institution.
